Are You Ready to Make a Difference?
Nationally, November is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, symbolized by the colour purple, which represents hope for many. In this spirit, every November, we hold our annual Purple Lights Campaign, running from November 3 – December 5, 2024.
Fundraising Goal
This year, our goal is to raise $50,000 towards our annual budget deficit of $500,000.
While this represents a small portion of our total needs, we are mindful of the many other organizations seeking support during this busy time.
Proceeds will directly support our ongoing programs and services at Hestia House.
Successful Events
Hangout at Hampton Brewery
Our official launch event, Hangout at Hampton Brewery, held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, was a huge success! It truly was A Night of Women’s Empowerment.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, showing support and lending strength to women and children in need.

This official launch event will be a Night of Women’s Empowerment, hosted by Hampton Brewery. Indulge in mouthwatering dishes from Ciao Bella’s food truck, and sway to the melodious tunes of a talented local female artist. Purple Games with UNBSJ Volleyball
Join us at the UNB Saint John Seawolves volleyball home games! Both the women's volleyball and men's volleyball games have been transformed into Purple Games in support of Hestia House! Cheer on both teams and get the chance to win two season tickets—all while making a meaningful impact for women and children in need.

How can you support?
- Attend: Show your support by attending both games and cheering on the UNBSJ Volleyball Team as they raise awareness for domestic violence and stand as a symbol of hope and solidarity for survivors, all while supporting Hestia House.
- Wear Purple: Help raise awareness by wearing purple to the games.
- Spread the Word: Invite friends and family to the games. The more people attending, the stronger our message of community support.
Purple Day of Games and Trivia: November 28
Mark your calendars and reserve Thursday, November 28, 2024, for a full day of games and trivia—all supporting Hestia House! Start the fun in the afternoon with games and wrap up the evening with trivia at two exciting events: the Purple Lights Games Afternoon and the Purple Lights Trivia Night.
Purple Lights Game Afternoon
Get ready for an afternoon of fun and friendly competition—all while raising funds to support essential services and provide a safe refuge for women and children in need.
What’s Happening?
- Fun: Team up with friends, bring your family, or come solo to enjoy games like cornhole, mini bowling, giant Connect Four, and more!
- Food: Enjoy an assortment of complimentary snacks, including pop, chips, and popcorn.
- Cineplex Raffle: You can win 2 Cineplex movie tickets and a $20 preloaded arcade game card! Extra raffle tickets can be purchased.
- Toonie Skittles Guessing Jar: Donate a toonie for 3 guesses on the Skittles count—the closest guess wins the whole jar!
- Loonie Slide Challenge: Donate a loonie and beat the competition to win BIG!

Corporate Challenge
Does your organization want to help raise awareness about domestic violence, support survivors, and educate others on the importance of prevention during Domestic Violence Awareness Month?
Join our Corporate Purple Challenge in November and get creative with impactful activities such as:
- Wear Purple Day: Team members wear a purple item of clothing to show support.
- Purple Ribbon Day: Team members wear a purple ribbon as a symbol of solidarity.
