Maritime women have had to fight hard for transition houses.  It is important to note that in Saint John, as in many areas the establishment of a transition house was a direct response by the community to address the issue of abuse against women.

Hestia House has a leadership team dedicated to supporting domestic violence survivors by providing a positive living environment with a culture that encourages self-improvement and help to achieving productive independent lives.
